During week 8 we looked at the international typographic style which originated in Switzerland in the 50’s with designers like Josef-Muller Brockmann and Emil Ruder.
After this weeks lecture I decided to look into the London based software and design company Ustwo. Ustwo was founded in 2004 by Matt Miller and John Sinclair. Originally the two founders were aiming to get into the mobile app business, and in the early 2010’s they were successful in creating apps for the new Apple app store. Although their big break didn’t come until 2014 with the game Monument Valley, the game was a massive success and sold over 26 million copies. They have released seven games since Monument Valley, their last being Desta: The Memories Between in 2022.
