This week we looked at data visualisation in the lead up to our second project. We also discussed our next task for project two and how we have to collect data for a week in our lives. I started to consider and track my datapoints, I chose to track my steps, my music stats and my screen time.
I started to look for some interesting examples of data visualisation, the first diagram I found was from NASA and it shows different asteroids around our solar system. I really like the fact that its interactive and it’s easy to use with the bar on the bottom allowing users to change the current time to see the progression.
The second example I looked at is of the ancient seven wonders of the world. This diagram was created by Pranav Gavali and is great at showing the user how the wonders were built. What I like about this example is that it uses both photography and illustration, I also like the unique charts it uses for the timeframes with the arches showing how long each monument lasted.
