This week we studied Modernism in the US, which was an art movement in the 20th Century around the time of WW2. Artists such as Paul Rand and Saul Bass were contributors to this movement.
The pentagram design firm was founded in 1972 In Notting Hill, London by Alan Fletcher, Theo Crosby, Colin Forbes, Kenneth Grange and Mervyn Kurlansky. Pentagram has quite an interesting hierarchy within the company as the company’s partners work collaboratively and share the money that the business makes. The company focuses on Graphic Design but also delves into: architecture, interiors, environmental and sound design. They have worked on things such as the interiors of Citibank’s and United Airlines designs. They have various partners, who are almost all from London or New York with a few exceptions.
