This week we looked at storyboards and how they are important for the progression of ideas. We also spent time looking at sitemaps and how they can expand ideas by linking topics together.

Storyboards

While researching into storyboards, I found one by Sara Eldebissy which I think does a good job of showing the user experience.

Below is another example of an UX storyboard that shows how the product or app can be used in daily situations, as well as the scenarios where people use them.

UX Sitemaps

I also researched into UX sitemaps, I came across a list of eight practices to create an effective sitemap.

  1. Keep it user-Centric
  2. Maintain Simplicity
  3. Use Clear Labelling
  4. Ensure Consistency
  5. Prioritise Key Content
  6. Allow for Scalability
  7. Regularly Update the Sitemap
  8. Test and Iterate

I also found an example of a sitemap which I thought was effective, It illustrates the user’s journey through a health app. It does a good job of showing the different sections of the app such as: Solutions, Uses, Results, About and Contact.
