For this week I decided to do some research on topics we have been looking at for the last few weeks.
Japonism was in the 19th century when European countries started to trade with Japan causing artists from Europe like Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet and Paul Cezanne to adopt a similar artistic approach, I picked a few examples from this era that I thought were interesting:
In week 2 we looked at Tim Brown who is the CEO of IDEO which is a design studio and is ranked in the top ten most innovative companies in the world their headquarters are based in San Francisco. Tim brown has wrote various books on design like: Flexible Typesetting and Change by design How Design Thinking Transforms Organizations and Inspires Innovation.
“Design thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation that draws from the designer’s toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success.”
Tim Brown has claimed design awards for his work and he also has exhibits within the design museum in London and the Museum of modern art in New York.
Una Kravets is a UI designer for Digital Ocean and is a web developer mainly focusing on CSS, she posts videos on YouTube and has a podcast about CSS and how to effectively use it in web development. She also has a website where she posts a blog about various topics within the world of computing.
Una Kravets also leads the UI team at Google Chrome which focuses on better performance of the web browser like finding bugs which can cause issues for users. She also works on Open UI which is a group of developers that works on web UI components.
