This week we looked at the history of the internet and how technology progressed from the early 1990’s to today.

Tim Berners-Lee

Tim Berners-Lee is a computer scientist from London, who is famous for inventing the World Wide Web. He done this by connecting HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) to TCP (Transmission Control Protocol). He wrote his proposal in 1989 and in 1990 he published the first website. The website was an explanation of the internet and how people could use it efficiently. In 1994 Tim founded the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).
