Our second Project of the module was to create a poster based on a human right from the Universal Declaration of Human rights.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a historic document which outlined the rights and freedoms everyone is entitled to.
It was the first international agreement on the basic principles of human rights. Almost every country in the world has accepted the declaration and it has been translated into more than 360 languages.
For my design i decided to base mine on article 1: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards on another in a spirit of brotherhood.”
When designing my piece I used the font “Jost”, the article and number is extra bold along with the UDHR at the bottom of the design. The text containing the human right is medium weight with the words that I thought just stand out in bold. With regards to the colours used, i decided to make the poster blue as blue is the official colour of the United Nations. The blue rectangle that sits above the white boxes is the exact colour of the UN.
