At the start of this module we created our cv’s for our placement year, I already had some past knowledge of how to layout a cv so I laid out a barebones version which I tested against cv360. I then moved onto designing the cv, I actually found this more challenging than I would’ve thought as we had to make the design still look professional so I changed my original design as it was a bit too colourful, when creating the new design I decided to just focus more on the layout and the typography. Our next project in the module was to create our portfolios, I was quite looking forward to completing this as I though its a good opportunity to show potential employers my work during my time in the course. The four projects I chose to include was: the music app, smartwatch app, web essay and banking brand. I faced some challenges while working on the file as I was working to build it using html but due to some problems I was having getting the site hosted I made the decision to change it to notion. After the completion of our portfolios we were given the next project brief which was to create a tender/proposal document. This project was definitely the most challenging in this module as I think it was because apart from our lecture on the topic I had no prior knowledge of how a company would professionally create a proposal document. It took me a while to finally figure out what to write about but once I got started it was easy enough to go from there, and I was happy with how it turned out as I think that it looks quite professional and it includes all of the necessary components. Our last project was our pitch presentation. I actually quite enjoyed coming up with the idea and writing the script for my pitch, with hindsight as well im glad i chose a topic that relates to me as it made it easier to talk about and it also meant that I was more engaged in the work I was creating. When it came to the presentation day I was very nervous going in but once i got up and started to speak it gradually gets easier as you go, and after I was finished presenting I think I did a decent job of answering the questions that were asked to me. My overall thoughts on this module are that it’s definitely helped me grow with whats expected of me professionally whether thats interview questions or the content involved in my cv/portfolio, and its helped me see what types of traits employers want to see when in the interview room or from the work that we produce.
