Our second project of the module is to create and design the user interface for an autonomous vehicle, to complete this task we need to consider: how the user can book the car, how its controlled and if it can use entertainment apps.

Storyboard

In week four we were put into teams in class to complete a storyboard for the project. We focused on how the user is able to call the autonomous vehicle from different screens around the area. we also included the feature of allowing two people to share and split the fare if they are going in the same general direction.

User Personas

After we completed our storyboard I moved on to creating user personas for people who would use an autonomous vehicle. The fields I included were: info, story, quote, needs and goals.

I also created a sitemap for the project. I started by splitting the project into different sections that could be used for the pages of the UI. From there I expanded these sections by adding different features that could potentially be used in the UI.

Sketches

Once I had finished the discovery phase of the project I moved on to sketching out how I wanted the User Interface to look and function. In my sketches I included features that I thought would be important in an autonomous vehicle. The first feature I added that I thought was essential was the map and directions on the left of the screen, along with the four boxes which include music, weather, car heating and calls. The last feature is the entertainment apps on the left of the screen.

Wireframes

The next step of the project after sketching out the features and layout of the User Interface was to start wire framing the design in Figma
