This week Tesla unveiled the Tesla robovan which is a car that can drive itself without human intervention. The CEO of Tesla Elon Musk said that the vehicle can carry up to twenty people or it could be used to transport goods. The robovan has no steering wheel as the interior just includes white seats facing each other for the passengers.
The robovan is reportedly set to arrive in 2027 but there are currently no plans for the vehicle to launch outside of the United States. My thoughts on the robovan are that I think its a very ambitious project but I can’t see it being ready by 2027, I also think that it may find it hard to compete with competitors as most autonomous vehicle travel is by taxi so many people might not want to buy one for themselves. But the design and functionality looks good from what we’ve briefly been shown with it being able to charge wirelessly, also with Musk saying that the vehicle can fit twenty people.
