I decided to look into twitch which is a live streaming site. They use the colour purple for their brand as it represents collective creativity and energy, the colour purple has become a core element of twitch’s design system. In 2019 twitch tweaked their brand slightly with a more vibrant purple and they changed thier typeface to roobert which is a sans-serif typeface. Twitch uses RGB for their colours when design digitally. The twitch brand tone of voice is mischievious, purposeful, iterative and revolutionary.
For my case study on the target audience I looked at Klarna. Klarna is an app were users can buy now and pay later instead of paying outright. Klarna ultilises thier brand to attract younger customers by advertising on clothing websites and social media apps, as they know that potential users in thier demographic are more in touch with technology and are more active online. Klarna also allows users on e-commerce sites to use thier buy now pay later scheme while in the checkout. My thoughts are that Klarna uses good measures to expand thier brand. I think that Klarna’s way of advertising by collaborating with influecers and pushing thier brand on platforms like TikTok and Instragram are great for getting a younger audience to buy into thier brand.
For my case study on a brand competitor I looked for a brand with similar values to my own, this led me to look at Bolt. Bolt has a very unique set of brand guidelines espescially within the banking sector. They ulitise a bright yellow for their brand which is quite unusual but I think it works well for them. Their logo is also subtle but is still noticable, and fits with their tone of voice and core values.
